Et, surprise, le massage serait susceptible d\u2019engendrer dans l\u2019organisme des modifications biochimiques en cha\u00eene qui se propagent jusqu\u2019au c\u0153ur m\u00eame des cellules, au niveau de leur ADN.<br><br>Pour leur \u00e9tude, les biologistes du d\u00e9partement des maladies neuromusculaires et neurom\u00e9taboliques de l\u2019universit\u00e9 McMaster, \u00e0 Hamilton (Ontario), ont recrut\u00e9 onze jeunes sportifs qu\u2019ils ont fait p\u00e9daler sur un v\u00e9lo stationnaire durant soixante-dix minutes \u00e0 toute vitesse.<br><br>Apr\u00e8s cet effort intense, chacun d\u2019eux a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 d\u2019un massage sur une seule jambe. En analysant les \u00e9chantillons de muscle pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de leurs cuisses juste avant l\u2019exercice, dix minutes apr\u00e8s le massage puis deux heures et demie plus tard, les chercheurs se sont aper\u00e7us que le massage avait d\u00e9clench\u00e9 des effets comparables \u00e0 un traitement antalgique m\u00e9dicamenteux.<br>Bien que les biopsies des deux jambes pr\u00e9sentent les m\u00eames microl\u00e9sions occasionn\u00e9es par le p\u00e9dalage forcen\u00e9, celles issues des muscles mass\u00e9s concentrent en effet beaucoup moins de mol\u00e9cules inflammatoires que les autres. Ces derni\u00e8res n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9vacu\u00e9es par les man\u0153uvres du massage mais tout simplement musel\u00e9es par les cellules musculaires elles-m\u00eames.<br><br>Explication : les pressions induites par le massage sont d\u00e9tect\u00e9es par de minuscules capteurs ench\u00e2ss\u00e9s dans la membrane des cellules. Ceux-ci transmettent aussit\u00f4t l\u2019information \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de leur cellule sous forme de signaux mol\u00e9culaires.<br>D\u00e8s lors, la machinerie cellulaire se met en marche et provoque des \u00e9v\u00e9nements en cha\u00eene qui aboutissent \u00e0 l\u2019activation de neuf g\u00e8nes d\u2019ordinaire silencieux, dont certains neutralisent le processus inflammatoire.<br>C\u2019est pourquoi les douleurs imm\u00e9diates et les courbatures du lendemain sont r\u00e9duites apr\u00e8s un massage. Mais ce n\u2019est pas tout. \u00c0 plus long terme, d\u2019autres g\u00e8nes sollicit\u00e9s encouragent la gen\u00e8se de nouvelles mitochondries, ces petits organites charg\u00e9s de la production d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur des cellules. L\u2019augmentation de leur nombre peut prendre plusieurs semaines.<br>Aussi les tissus mass\u00e9s seront-ils plus toniques et mieux arm\u00e9s face aux agressions inflammatoires.<br>Si vous \u00eates un grand sportif, nous vous recommandons par cons\u00e9quent de recevoir un massage apr\u00e8s votre sport soit pour r\u00e9duire vos douleurs post-sport soit pour tonifier encore plus vos cellules et vos muscles.<br><br>En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les courbatures sont ressenties 1 \u00e0 3 jours apr\u00e8s un massage. C\u2019est ce que l\u2019on appelle \u00ab l\u2019effet rebond \u00bb.<br><br>Dans le sport, l\u2019apparition tardive de la douleur musculaire est ressentie par ceux qui ont effectu\u00e9 un entra\u00eenement intense inhabituel et soudain auquel le corps n\u2019aurait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9par\u00e9 ni habitu\u00e9. De la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que pour le sport, la douleur ou le malaise apr\u00e8s le massage est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un m\u00e9canisme d\u2019adaptation du corps qui gu\u00e9rit le processus de perturbation physique soudaine qui peut avoir eu lieu lors d\u2019une s\u00e9ance de massage profond. Les nouveaux sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des cas graves de douleur et de malaise apr\u00e8s le massage, car leur corps n\u2019est pas habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 des pressions importantes et soudaines par le biais de mouvements de massage. Une personne n\u2019ayant jamais re\u00e7u de massage ressentira plus d\u2019inconforts apr\u00e8s son premier rendez-vous que celle qui fait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des massages. Si en plus, elle est inactive ou souffre de tensions en raison de gestes r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs ou de sa posture de travail, la personne r\u00e9agira davantage aux man\u0153uvres du masseur.<br>Pour r\u00e9duire les risques de douleurs post massage, il faut commencer par des massages plut\u00f4t doux.<br>L\u2019inconfort et la douleur caus\u00e9s le plus souvent ne dure qu\u2019un jour ou deux ; il est essentiel de ne pas \u00e9puiser le corps en effectuant un travail physique ou augmenter l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique.<br>Prenez une journ\u00e9e de cong\u00e9 et reposez-vous au lit jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que vous vous sentiez mieux.<br><br>Un mal de t\u00eate peut \u00e9galement survenir et il est d\u00fb \u00e0 la stimulation des fibres nerveuses pendant le massage ou \u00e0 la
